History
The palace-house of the Lasso family, located in the square of the same name, was built at the end of the 15th century. The only remaining part of the original building is the stone doorway of the main façade, on whose lintel the family coat of arms is displayed.
Points of interest
The palace-house has several interior courtyards, a garden, numerous rooms and halls, some of them covered with alfarjes (horizontal and interlocking wooden roofs) of great beauty.
The impressive main U-shaped staircase is covered with a large vault set on beams, and the main patio, with a double porticoed gallery in three of its sides, follow the aesthetic rules of the Sevillian Mudejar style.
In 1992 it was converted into the “Casa de Carmona” hotel.
